Hi, my name is Mr. Big!
… because I am a big chestnut warmblood/thoroughbred cross, that is big in height, 16.3 hands tall and I am slender and muscular, and I am a true gentleman, I am Mr. Big! Big is my love for my owner Collette. Big is my personality; I am a horse with a big personality. I take big steps with my long legs, I cover ground, I canter big, and I have a big appetite. I've got to feed my big body! I am Mr. Big! They gave me this name for a reason. I was a big colt. I was bred for big riders, and eventually I was used for fox hunting, and it was big fun! When I got a little tired, I came to a farm where I became friends with Bull (the OTTB horse you met in the September Blog). I liked Bull immediately as everyone does. We hang out together and we became “brothers”, inseparable! Our owner became ill and she called Collette who previously owned Bull. She had to be convinced to also buy me too because I am his brother and because she started her own dressage business and needed a big horse. When she moved the business to 3 Wish Stable, Bull and all horses got fancy indoor stalls. Of course, Collette put Bull’s and my stall next to each other so we can look out the opening and nuzzle. We share a paddock at night; we are inseparable and in constant communication unless we are being used for a lesson or the sweet persons who lease us come and ride us. Bull and I love to work and being ridden in the arena and sometimes for trail rides on the property.

We used to be outside with some other horses all the time at Collette's former place. We had a big round bale of hay to nibble on the whole day and the whole night. Breakfast, lunch (beet pulp), and dinner were “served” in rubber pans, that were pushed under the fence into the field. Bull always tried to steal from my food. I had to chase him off and the other bully horses too. Once I was so mad, that I accidentally stepped into the pan when chasing them away and all my food spilled into the dirt. I went right to Bull's pan and ate his food. I am the most ferocious sounding horse when it's feeding time! I roar like a big lion but I don't kick the stall door like the other big friend Dallas. He doesn't roar.
You have read in the September Blog that my brother Bull has anhidrosis, he can't sweat. In the summer he's in his insulated cooling stall and the bar window is closed. I can’t nuzzle with my brother when that happens. I have to be patient for night time when the two of us make up! Collette says, “Mr. Big is my biggest sweater!” True, because I am Mr. Big
From Monica:
Mr. Big was my partner for a year before Opie came into my life, and in that time we built a connection thas has stayed with us. Coming back together for the schooling show at 3 Wish Stable on September 26 felt surprisingly natural – like we simply picked up where we left off. Stepping into the ring and scoring a 70.5 was a great reminder of the trust and partnership we built together, and of how special it is to have a horse you can reconnect with and just ride!
From Kerri:
I have known Mr. Big for two years and have leased him for several months recently. He's a kind and gentle horse who has developed tremendously over the past two years on his journey to becoming a competitive dressage horse. He's always willing and want to learn new things. Most of the time I have worry about him trying too hard and holding his breath when he's concentrating versus not wanting to do something. As we both become better athletes, I hope to help him stay strong, healthy, and happy.
